As I'm aware that tourists wander on to this blog from time to time looking for travel information on Hong Kong, I'm feeling obliged to offer the following advice: Don't come in June, July or August because it pisses with rain the whole time.
Look at these rainfall figures: June - 18.8 rainy days per month, July - 17.8, August - 17.4. You think you'll avoid it? You think you'll be lucky? Ask yourself: When are you ever?
Funnily enough, since I wrote that it's stopped raining.

Good advice! And it's so hot in Hong Kong in those months; and the typhoons!
Hope you are doing well, Diana. Best wishes to the family too. :)

Hi Tammy
We've been stuck in HK all summer and it's been hell trying keep the kids amused as it's alway too hot or too wet outdoors. We usually venture out around 5pm to go swimming, by which time the sun has cooled down. Quite often we've ended up swimming in the rain, which is actually rather fun.
Hope London's treating you well. Wish I was there!

If you are looking for electronic goods, it is best to know your product, its price and availability in Hong Kong. If you are worried about getting ripped off in Hong Kong and there are a number of well publised scams, take a look at ShopCite www.shopcite.com to check prices and availabilty without having to walk from shop to shop. Shopcite even has a mobile phone version www.shopcite.mobi so you can check anytime and anywhere while you are
moving around.
